OPAW Prolouge UPDATE by *zraya218:iconzraya218:

Prologue:

Long Ago, there lived two large groups. The Savage Wolves, the most feared creatures across the lands, and The Tranquil Dragons, the creatures who kept the world equal and in peace. The Wolves were jealous of the Dragons, for the Dragons lived in the safety of the mountains, and were gifted with the powers of sorcery, while the Wolves lived among the wastelands and had to hunt for whatever food was available.
Although, with the Dragons being so peaceful, they knew no ways of fighting or hunting. The Tranquil Dragons had a weakness. One day the wolves turned on their once safely distanced enemies and did something horrible. Two of the wolves, Rufana and Dusk, snuck off across the mountains towards the sacred caves of the Dragon.
They came to a cave where all the eggs that were laid were being warmed by the nearby lava streams coming up through the earth. Rufana and Dusk stole all twenty of the eggs and smashed them among the walls of the Dragons History. Awakened with such a tragedy and unable to fight back with physical attacks they sought help.
The Elders sent down a curse to the Wolves territory, killing all the unborn pups. The curse made the female wolves that were pregnant very vulnerable for attack. Whatever the female wolves would eat would turn to poison before it reached their unborn pups, so the female wolves couldn't eat, thus killing the pups, but if they did eat, they'd poison their pups, killing them.
The Dragon Elders slowly watched from the mountains above. They watched as the female wolves starved and died among the wastelands. They watched in terror, as their curse destroyed not only the unborn pups, but the mother's carrying them inside their womb, they starved, dying with their pups.
The Elders, full of regret, returned to their sacred caves, and awaited the terror that would soon be upon their high, safe, lands. When the curse had lifted, there was barely any of the Savage Wolves left to continue living among the lands. The female population had dropped drastically. The male wolves that had been paired with the female wolves had not eaten to comfort their pregnant mate, making their population drop about 50%.
Azulon, the leader of the Savage Wolves called a meeting the next night. Bringing forth the only other male wolf that had survived, Griffeth. The other three females gathered up supplies knowing what was in stored for the future. Azulon and Griffeth knew what was in store, and finally agreed on the once unbelievable. The Savage Wolves had to ask for forgiveness and beg to live with the Tranquil Dragons, if they wanted to survive.
The long journey to the high tops of the mountains, across the lava fields warming the once safe eggs, and into the entrance of the Sacred Dragon Caves. Azulon approached the cave with caution awaiting another sound to reassure that this moment was not going to end up in a bloody battle.
Two golden eyes appeared in the darkness, and within a split second, the eyes moved forward and revealed a golden dragon, scales as dark as his eyes. Tail as long as his strong legs, and his horns, twisted and chipped, seemed like they were staring down at the Wolf leader.
"What brings you to our Sacred Caves?" The Dragon hissed as he got down to eye level with the leader standing his ground.

"I bring the rest of my family...a curse that we well deserved has killed our population and...we have nowhere to go."
"You are right for one thing. The curse that destroyed your once strong clan was your fault."
"No, you don't understand-"
"You apparently don't, you're kind is not welcome here."

The gold dragon turned swiftly on his feet and started back into the safety of his cave.

"Wait!" A yell came from behind Azulon. One of the three female wolves had spoken and now trotted up to the front of the cave. This wolf was named Ennov. She was a bright tan that almost matched the shine of the dragon's scales. She had green eyes, although when you looked closely, the two greens were different shades. One eye was covered with grey fur.

"Please, just listen..."
The dragon turned around, seeming to be fuller of interest.
"And who are you my dear..?"
"My name is Ennov, and may I be kind enough to ask of yours?"
The dragon hesitated, "My name is Liou."

"If I may ask though, Ennov, why do you have that grey fur around your eye..?"
"Oh..," Ennov started.
"A long time ago, before I lived with the Savage Wolves...I lived on my own, along the Dark Mountains of Slousdaed, I...I accidently killed another wolf over jealousy...and after weeks of agonizing pain and self-pity, I prayed to the gods that they'd forgive me."
"Oh."
"And...in a result of them forgiving me, as a consequence, they blinded me in my left eye."
Liou paused, hesitated, and stood quite still.
"Strong bond with the Gods." He looked up upon the heavens and smiled then looked back at the pack of wolves.
"Your kind is wanted here." Ennov smiled. "And my family..?" Liou looked up at the trembling remainder of the wolves. He frowned, but this time it ended quickly. He again, turned on his feet and walked halfway into the cave.
"Like I said, your kind is wanted here."
The family of wolves smiled and followed Liou into the tunnels of the caves, awaiting their new home.

Weeks passed and the dragons and wolves lived in harmony.
"Have you ever done sorcery?" Liou asked as he climbed the Mountains of Gillanrete. Him and Ennov followed the old trails, for Liou had a surprise for her.
"Sorcer-what?" Liou smiled.
"Magic."
"Oh, right." She smiled. Liou trusted her and only her. To him, she was the leader of the pack.
An object glistened in the sunlight. Liou lifted up a clear rock that was a light shade of blue. Ennov showed signs of curiosity as she leaned in, almost touching the object with her nose. Liou jerked back, pulling the rock back from her face.
"Froz Stone." He muttered running a clawed talon along the smooth edges, careful of putting no pressure among the sensitive edges. Ennov ran her claws along the edges slowly and softly as Liou had instructed.
"Freezes time and space...and anyone trapped within the area, within a few minutes."

Sorcery was the greatest power of the Tranquil Dragons. Daily practices surged the survival of the clan. Liou was a kind-hearted creature, wise and strong.

"I want you to have this." Liou placed a necklace with a purple gem around Ennov's neck. "Belonged to my grandfather, leader of our old pack. It's power is nothing a wolf has ever been able to use."
"Liou..."
"Please Ennov, you don't need to say anything. I trust your choice. I trust your power. I trust you."
They had grown close, and their trust bonds were unbreakable.

One day, one sad, stubborn day, Liou made a terrible mistake. Ennov took to the magic quickly, and soon mastered what elder dragons could not grasp. Soon, the magic, good and evil, took over her body and mind. The power, turned to the worst, and destroyed her from within.

She was banished. After two months of living with the Tranquil Dragons, learning their ways, she was pushed away, never to return. Liou was almost sent along with her, but was reminded of his power towards the Dragons. He was kept, no punishment for teaching such ways to a wolf.

The Mountain of Teican was a dark, dreadful place. High upon the gloomy clouds Ennov climbed. She growled as the air became thin and pressure entered her lungs. She came upon a cavern, and decided to rest. The cavern glowed a deep black as slight moonlight flickered off the dark crystals engulfing the cave. Ennov slumped to the hard cave ground and let out a gasp as her lungs adjusted to the air around her. Without being on the move, her breath steadied and her mind became more clear with air and blood returning to her head. She let out a load grown that went on through the cave, and she was surprised to hear the voice carry on for many moments of her laying there. Her chest ached from the air, but relentless, she moved further within the cave.
The stalagcites dripped  black water from the dark caves features. The place was dark, eternally dark to Ennov. Her blind eye made traveling even more difficult in the darkened area. Hatred. Her mind hissed to her as she came into an open area. Darkness. She listened to the dripping of water whine into her ears as she fell to the ground again. Revenge...

Awoken with anger and taste for revenge Ennov started her plans.
"A dragon and a wolf, able to transform back and forth, by their own will. They won't know what hit them," she hissed as she rubbed her paws together. Black light arose from her claws and shook the cavern stalagmites. A stalactite fell from the ceiling and fell onto a shiny artifact. Ennov let out a high-pitched howl when she saw the object. A Froz Stone had been shattered and was starting to react around the cavern, threatening to take Ennov and her black magic into its frozen time continuum, sealing her with the poison of her magic forever. Unwilling to give up, Ennov recited one last thing.

"Time is frozen, but hear my cry.
Your first born pup will surely die.
A dragon hatched, a team is born.
Although apart, the hearts are torn.
A journey starts, adventures wide.
Travel far, to my dark side.
Reverse my spell, and set me free.
Strike me before, or you will see.
Your death may come, cause you will find.
My demon's here, not left behind."

And before her last words came out. She was frozen, with her dark magic trapped against her body, in time and space, frozen without the coming of age.

Anisa, the youngest of the wolf messengers', was resting on a rock and watching the eastern sky. She wore a dark red scarf she had found one day and refused to take it off, and her deep orange fur longed to join the sky's sunset for the colors were by far, complimented each other. Enol, an old wise silverback watched the west on their break from running errands. His dark blue eye's complimented the sky's night coming as Anisa's fur did the day ending. That's why they were chosen for their partnership. Anisa watched the day end, saw the sky turn a blood red to a deep orange as the sun vanished upon the mountains that surrounded their clan. Enol kept eyes on the opposite, and greeted the night and moon. He enjoyed the night for his eyes, and the moonlight that matched his scales.
"Kinda quiet tonight." Enol finally spoke, an uncommon occasion. Anisa cocked her head, as if his voice was of a stranger. She smiled.
"A break is always nice though." She turned from her post and walked over.
She joined him in watching the stars take their places for the coming night. He seemed to enjoy the company because he folded his silvertipped wings in, showing he was relaxed.
Anisa and Enol were paired the day the two packs merged. Enol was from the Lone Dragons, and Anisa came with the Savage Wolves.
"Alright. Night has come, and this ends our post for the day."
"Very well, Enol, but you will lead the way this time."
I'm going to kill them all...
"What?"
All of them.
"The Mountains, Anisa, look!"
The Mountains looked as if they were shaking in the rumble of yells that reached the cliffs where Aisa and Enol stood ground and watched for trouble.
"Ennov.."
"Anisa, RUN! We must report this back, immedietly!"
Anisa and Enol ran to the edge of the cliff.
"To the skies-"
"And by foot upon the land."
Anisa jumped off the cliff, unlike the way they usually worked.
"Anisa!" Enol yelled looking over to see Anisa sliding down the cliff fast but carefully.
"Enol, whatever is happening over there, it's not good. Everyone deserves to be warned around these parts. I'll meet you back to deliver the message."
"Anisa." Enol stared down at his partner. "Good Luck."
Anisa ran as Enol flew for many hours before she saw the lands where the Dragons and Wolves lived in peace. Liou and many more greeted her in the caves.

"We have heard news of something terrible," Anisa explained.
The dragons and wolves gathered around silently, awaiting the news of which the messenger spoke. She recited the spell that had been heard across the Sacred Lands.

The Dragon Elder's spoke wise and strong, as they always did.
"We have a choice, and we will remain to it, unless more opinions are received."
"A curse has been cast upon our lands, and a terrible one at that. I am sending you all away." The wolves howled in protest, unhappy with the plan.
"Silence!" Bellowed Liou. "The time has come, that we rename this group. The Peace Elders will remain here."
"The rest will leave; flee as far as the mountains will take you, across the plains and rivers, to the other side of the world."
"What good will these do?" Shouted Azulon. "Ennov will find a way to get to us, no matter how many miles we flee."
Liou barred his white fangs and made Azulon cower where he once stood. Talia, another dragon elder walked between them, eyes closed, and whispered, “What more can we do?”
So, persuasive meetings and long reasoning made the dragons and wolves flee to the ends of the earth to protect the untold prophecy. Staying behind in the now Lands of the Ancients stayed the few dragons and wolves. The Peace Elders, who would live among these lands and wait for the team to arrive to free, than defeat the evil spirits that would soon haunt these lands. The Peace Elders consisted of: Liou, the golden dragon who taught Ennov her ways, Talia, the healer among the once Tranquil dragons, Hydra, the only other master of sorcery among the dragons, Griffeth, master of surprise and war, second in charge of the once savage wolves, Cree, master of nature, language, and the lands, and Luna, the Mother among the packs of wolves and dragons.
“Who deserves such a pup, the responsibility of raising a Hero?” Luna asked Liou. Time was slow, and they had to choose now, to begin the long prophecy. “The year of the Dragon and Dog will be twisted, and the birth of the Hero will be followed by the hatching of the first egg.” Liou nodded and said the ending line. “A team is born.” Luna nodded too. “Azulon’s mate shall have the honors.”
“Let us hope two strong males shall be born into this world, to end the evil, to bring our groups back.” Griffeth said before heading off to clear the hills to shut their selves in. Talia, Luna, and Hydra exchanged glances and smiled.
“We shall see what the future withholds.” Luna eyes shined bright. The deed was done. The prophecy began.

Author's Comments

Here's a treat for OPAW fans all around.
I finally am getting around to updating the prologue for you. It's not much, but it has the part with Anisa that this one person has been dying for. I also added a part that one of the OPAW recruited members thought of.

I believe all of the old ***** are now filled, and if a few are still there, I apologize.

If you do reread, I will thank you for new opinions. The storyline is the same, so don't freak.

The higher your altitude ( higher you go up yeah lol),t eh thinner the atmosphere becomes (less pollution), thee for making the air thinner and making you lungs work harder to get the oxygen.

Higher=harder.

Good? :)
:iconzraya218:
Oh, so, I'm write with the 'harder to breath' part, just got the thicker and thinner part wrong?
